His involvement in BDB is no coincidence. An inventor at heart, Jim never stops trying to solve the problems he has faced as a bridge construction subcontractor over the past two decades. He has since received several patents for equipment related to jacking and erecting bridges.

Gary M. Dinmore, P.E.
Gary is a co-founder of BDB Bridge. He combines 30 years of construction and engineering experience along with a solid foundation of military discipline and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Gary started his career as a structural engineer with a focus on building forensics and construction management. It wasn’t long before he pivoted to the design, construction, and inspection of bridges and tunnels. Gary’s career has been spent mainly in the New York Metropolitan Area addressing challenges and bringing innovation to dozens of high-profile infrastructure projects.
A Professional Engineer specializing in bridges (especially temporary structures), Gary can work on both sides of the fence since he wore a tool belt after the military to get through college. He possesses the unique ability to comprehend both the economics behind the design and the constructability within the design which allows him to see the big picture.
It was Gary’s big picture thinking and entrepreneurial spirit that lead to the formation of BDB Bridge. Recognizing that bridge designers and contractors lacked an effective bridge jacking system, he reunited with an old high school buddy whom developed an innovative hydraulically driven tower system with high load capacity to expedite the installation and removal process. He responded by branding the Hydra-Tower and Static-Tower and joining his friend Jim Benzing, and brother Martin, to launch BDB Bridge.
Gary served as a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces on an A-Detachment and is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He is also an alumnus of The Pennsylvania State University and a member of American Concrete Institute, Post-Tensioning Institute, and National Association of Corrosion Engineers.
